Come on and travel down to Grits Grill located in the Outer Banks Mall in Nags Head, North Carolina.   Let the Pritchard Family share their “simply southern” hospitality with you by cooking you up one of their famous plates of “Kiss Our Grits”;  two eggs any style, two fluffy hot cakes, hash browns or grits and your choice of bacon or sausage!  Grits Grill is a family owned restaurant offering a family atmosphere serving everything from Krispy Kreme donuts to Hatteras Style Clam Chowder.  Traditional diner with a fun and hip Outer Banks twist! Grits Grill offers live entertainment Friday and Saturday.

History

The Pritchard Family, who also owns and runs the Dunes Restaurant at MP 16, supports the March of Dimes and the Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis.  Owner and father, Rufus Pritchard, is a member of the Dare County Board of Health.  Son, Patrick Pritchard plays a big role in helping his father manage Grits Grill.  He is also quite involved in the operations at the Dunes Restaurant as well.  Not only has Patrick grown up working in the family restaurants he has also previously worked in other restaurants on the Outer Banks.

Husband and wife team, Rufus and Roxie Pritchard, own and operate The Dunes Restaurant.  Rufus attended Campbell College and Roxie attended Atlantic Christian College.  Rufus worked at the East Carolina Bank for 7 ½ years as a Branch Manager.  Roxie had worked briefly in restaurants while going through college.  Both North Carolina natives met while on a blind date and were later married.  The idea to establish The Dunes Restaurant fell into their laps when a customer at the bank mentioned a breakfast establishment going up for sale.  Now they have three children; Davis, Patrick and Sarah. The Pritchard family has truly created a family friendly restaurant!
