History
The Drive Inn was opened in 1969 by the Burrus family. In the beginning, Minnie Burrus and Alan Burrus (Dare County Commissioner) ran the eatery for the family. This establishment is a real Hatteras Island landmark, and an excellent eating choice prior to catching the Ocracoke Ferry.
