You can’t miss Lisa’s Pizza when you drive through Rodanthe on Hatteras Island. Located on Highway 12 on the right-hand side of the road heading south, the exterior of the establishment is finished with wooden shingles. Inside you can relax in a wood-paneled dining area with plenty of windows and nice hardwood floors.

History
Briggs McKewen first ate at Lisa’s Pizza when he was twelve-years-old while vacationing with his family from 1966 to 1985, the building was occupied by the Shoreline Fish Market. In 1986, Kenny Muglia opened Lisa’s Pizza, named after his wife, and operated the restaurant until he sold it to Briggs, a graduate of VCU in 1999.
Chef Biography

Briggs, who grew up in Richmond, VA, helps his kitchen manager, Bryan Midgett, prepare the food; and his wife, Kristina, the establishment’s bookkeeper , supervises the front of the house, including operating the cash register.
Owner Biography

Briggs and Kristina McKewen are the owners of Lisa’s Pizza. Both are very involved in the day-to-day operation of the establishment.
