This family dining restaurant is a favorite choice of fishermen visiting Cape Hatteras or for families touring the Hatteras Lighthouse. Keith Gray, the owner, has pictures of the famous Diamond Shoals Light Ships, and photographs of hurricanes from his personal collection mounted on the walls and tables for all to see. This history session is topped by the huge saltwater fish tank filled with tropical fish. This is a real treat for the kids.
And don't miss the chowder! Congratulations to Keith and Diamond Shoals for another first place win at the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation chowder cook off. The cook off was held at the annual Hatteras Island Day at the Docks. Keith entered a creamy crab chowder and tomato-based bisque. The chowder cook off raised $2,200 for the cancer foundation and the Day at the Docks organization.
